Xens of PHE and PDD, CMO Anantnag, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar Mattan, Officials of Fire & Emergency Department Anantnag and members of Gurdawara Prabandak Committee Singpora, Aishmuqam attended the meeting. On the occasion, the ADC directed the officers to ensure availability of necessary arrangements like uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, medicare facilities, fire fighting measures, transport facilities for devotees to their religious places, sanitation measures in and around Sikh worship places of the district, besides adequate supply of essentials in Sikh majority areas of the district during the festive days.
Pertinently, Sikhs celebrate the festival with joy and devotion and take Baisakhi procession or nagar kirtan under the leadership of Panj Piaras or the ‘Five Beloved Ones’. While as mock duels, bands playing religious tunes and performance of bhangra and gidda dance make Baisakhi processions quite colourful and enchanting.
