This refers to the professional beggars, on prowl in length and breadth of Srinagar limits particularly near shrines, mosques, temples, educational institutions, hospitals/ primary health centres, petrol filling stations and amusement parks. Whosoever comes across their eyes is compelled to pay something.
People are totally confused how to get rid of this trouble. No doubt a human being has to extend a helping hand to deserving persons like orphans, destitute, physically challenged or mentally retarded, but not those who can easily manage their livelihood
but are habitually indulged in such unwarranted profession.
Time demands that both state administration and the people should collectively uproot disease from the valley.
