Bheema Nayak, Mohammed remanded to CID custody till Dec 23

Bengaluru, December 17
Bheema Nayak, suspended Special Land Acquisition officer of the Karnataka Housing Board, and his driver Mohammed, arrested in connection with conversion of black money into white allegedly for Mining baron G Janardhana Reddy, were remanded to seven day CID custody till December 23. CID is investigating into the allegations made in the death note by Nayak’s official driver Ramesh who committed suicide following harassment and threat on his life by Nayak against revealing the facts to
the Police.
When Nayak and Mohammed were produced before the Madur JMFC judge
P M Prakash who remanded them to CID custody for seven days.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths had yesterday conducted
raids simultaneously on the premises and properties of Nayak at
Hospet, Bellari, Belagavi and in the city and unearthed more than
Rs 10 crore worth properties in his and family members name.
In the death note of Ramesh, Nayak was named as involved in converting Rs 25
crore black money into white for commission to Mining baron and
former Minister G Janardhana Reddy who conducted his daughter’s
marriage lavishly and it attracted the attention of Income Tax
officials who sought details about sources of money spent that too
after demonetisation banning Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were announced
on November 8.
