Bihar road rage: Father of accused sent to jail

Bindi Yadav, father of murder case accused Rocky, was on Monday sent to jail for harboring his criminal son and facilitating his escape.

Earlier, on Sunday, Bindi Yadav, husband of MLC Manorma Devi, was formally arrested in connection with the much publicized case in which Aditya Sachdeva, a class XII student was gunned down for overtaking the vehicle of the MLC’s spoiled son.

Aditya was killed late on Saturday evening near Gaya Central jail. Jail for Bindi Yadav, is like the second home as the former Crime Control detenu has been in and out of jail at regular intervals.

The Gaya police on Monday produced Bindi Yadav and Rajesh Kumar, police body guard of the MLC in the court of SK Jha, additional chief judicial magistrate. The ACJM forwarded the two to judicial custody for 14 days. The two have subsequently been sent to Gaya Central jail.

Outside the court, Bindi Yadav told media persons that his arrest would further delay the nabbing of his son Rocky. Had he been free, he would have ensured Rocky’s surrender. Now that he was in custody, it was not possible for him to persuade his son to surrender, said Bindi. The MLCs husband sought his own freedom for early surrender of Rocky.

Meanwhile, the Zonal IG Naiyyer Hasnain Khan has promised inquiry into how Bindi, the history sheeter managed to get licence for weapons and police body guard for personal protection. Administrative action will be initiated to get Bindi’s licence cancelled, said Khan. Bindi according to sources, got arms licence from Aurangabad district by providing misleading information.
