Jammu Tawi, April 26
State Artisans and Weaver Cell organized one day convention at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar. National convener Artisans and Weaver Bijay Kumar Bharti was the chief guest.
The convention was organized to highlight the plight of Artisans and Weaver of the state with special reference to the Artisans and Weaver of two forgotten areas of the state, i.e. Jammu and Ladakh.
These two areas abound in Artisans and Weaver and are master of class in producing Handicrafts and Handloom products. They have the capacity and skill to produce master piece of art, but their abject poverty and lack of support from the authorities have made them to lag behind. These Artisans & Weavers do not have access to the policies and schemes of the government. First they are ignorant of these facilities secondly the department concerned does not organize awareness camps in these areas.
On this occasion, Bijoy Bharti, said that Delhi Cell of Artisans and Weavers will do its best to bring Artisans & Weavers of neglected areas of the state at par with the Artisans & Weavers of the other part of the state and the country where Artisans & Weavers run their units successfully and produce products of class.
Bijoy Bharti was welcomed by renowned Artisan Romesh Kumar followed by presentation of resolution by Artisans & Weavers Cell convener Bal Krishan Koul.
MoS Cooperative Tsering Dorjey, who was the guest of honour, in his address said that there is ample need to improve the living condition of the Artisans & Weavers. So their working condition needs to be attended to by all of us.
In his speech, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul lauded the Artisans and Weavers cell to organize this convention. He said the party will strive to improve the life of Artisans & Weavers. The convention ended with the presentation of vote of thanks by All Cells Incharge Varinderjeet Singh.
