BJP betrayed Jammu people on all fronts: Bhalla

Feb 22:  Former Revenue Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu on all fronts  despite the  fact that  people here provided them massive mandate during previous Assembly elections.
While addressing a public rally at Bahu Fort here today, Mr Bhalla alleged that the so-called development agenda of the BJP, which its leaders always used to chant to woo the voters during election days, has proved to be a cruel joke with the people as after forging an illogical alliance with the PDP, nothing happened on the ground.
He pointed out that the BJP’s promised of getting Smart City project sanctioned for Jammu but till date it remained in doldrums as it failed to get Jammu included in the first list of 20 Smart Cities announced by the Centre Government.
“BJP has always betrayed the  Jammu region in all aspects,”  Bhalla lamented adding that BJP always tried to polarize the situation for its vested interests.
“Development can’t be done with mere hollow slogans but there needs to be basic understanding of public issues,” Mr  Bhalla said.
The Congress leader also blamed both PDP and BJP for the imposition of  Governor’s Rule twice in the State first before forging alliance with the PDP and then after the sudden death of  former Chief Minister  Mufti Mohd Sayeed.
Taking a dig at the BJP leadership, he said that it (BJP) is once again in the process of forging alliance under the table and trying to bargain with the PDP to form the Government in the State.
On this occasion,  Raman Bhalla also distributed about  500 blankets among the needy people at Bahu Fort including widows and BPL families. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the former Minister.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Dewan Chand  Ex-Corporator Ward No. 47;  Reeta Devi,  Rakesh Bhagat,  P C Shagotra,  Inderjeet,  Harnam Dev,  Ayodhya Lal,  and Dimple Kumar.
