BJP-PDP averse to the woes of lower rung employees: Harsh

Flaying the harassment doled out to the youth in the sphere of employment by the State Government, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and Former Minister sought release of long pending wages and regularization of services of DRWs, need based workers, Safai-Karamcharis He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today. Highlighting the grave concerns of SPO’s working in Police Department, Harsh Dev Singh revealed that as many as 25000 SPOs across the State have been drawing a negligible honorarium till date despite the tall pronouncements made by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI regarding the enhancement of their salaries under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE). He also expressed his anguish over the exploitation of thousands of NHRM, NYCs and Anganwari workers and other lower rung employees having been left in lurch under the open skies with no wages to them for several months. Harsh Dev Singh lampooned BJP’s claims of “Achey Din” as mirage for the educated youth as the ruffians, vandals, hooligans and illiterates were glorified in Kashmir while the nationalist underemployed youth were exploited, suppressed and quelled. He said that the Supreme Court had very categorically ruled that paying less wages to an employee as compared to a similarly situated constituted exploitative subjugation and hence violated the fundamental guarantees enshrined in the constitution.
