BJP starts campaign in support of Demonetisation of notes

Puducherry, November 28
At a time when different parties are organising agitations against the demonetisation of higher value notes of Rs 500/1000 by the central government, the Puducherry unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party had started a signature campaign in support of the demonetisation of the notes.
BJP state president V Saminathan had started the signature campaign here yesterday.
Saminathan in a statement today said the agitation by the opposition in the issue is in no way beneficial and on the other hand it would stall the development of the country. Highlighting this among the public, the BJP propose to get one lakh signature till December 10.The campaign is being undertaken in Puducherry and Karaikal districts of the union territory.
Alleging that Puducherry Chief Minister who spent Rs 50 crore unaccounted money to win the Nellithope assembly by-election is organising agitations against the demonetisation to protect the black money belonging to the congress functionaries.
He wondered why Narayanasamy failed to organise any agitation when the over twenty thousand employees of the cooperative and public sector institutions were suffering a lot because of the non-payment of their salary for several months.
People who are having accounted money and who pa income tax properly are not opposing the move of the PM, Saminathan said adding that the PM was going in advising people for over 120 days to remit their unaccounted money in banks and pay taxes properly.
How could the agitation of Narayansamy who kept silent all along now, using the public as a shield be justified, he asked.
He also challenged the present congress legislators whether they dare to announce their wealth mobilized in the past 20 years.
He also said the CM is playing “double role” by accusing the Prime Minister here and praising him when he (Narayanasamy) visits
new Delhi.
