The new MP Swamy who has been incessantly attacking the Congress, announced he will move a privilege motion against Ghulam Nabi Azad.
“I will just after 11 am raise the breach of privilege committed by Ghulam Nabi Azad for wilfully telling a lie to RS on AW (AgustaWestland) blacklisting,” Swamy tweeted on Friday morning.
A few hours later, the MP raised the matter in the House and asked what had happened to his privilege notice.
Rajya Sabha deputy chairman, PJ Kurien said, “If you have given a privilege notice, it is under consideration of the Chairman. He will first examine it.”
Azad had on Thursday listed the steps taken by the UPA after the AgustaWestland chopper scam came to light.
Swamy had also entered into an argument with the Congress after he referred to a foreign constitution while talking about the Aligarh Muslim University.
Some of Swamy’s comments were expunged. However, the Congress remained harried and protested against Swamy.
Asked by the Chair what the problem was when the remarks had been expunged, Azad’s response was: “The problem is the new gift of BJP. Problem is not on this side.”
In his two days as Rajya Sabha MP, Swamy’s remarks have already been expunged twice, Azad pointed out. “There are 365 days in a year, how many times are you going to expunge his words,” he asked the Chair.
Alleging Swamy did not know the difference between street language and parliamentary words, Azad said, “He does not allow his hair to gray so he can learn and mature.”
