Border populace migrates to safer places after ‘Surgical Strike’

Following the high alert sounded in the Jammu and Kashmir after the ‘surgical strike’ on terror camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), various border hamlets have migrated to safer places across Jammu.
Highly placed sources informed that all the civilian hamlets lying within the 10 kilometer area from International Border or Line of Control in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Akhnoor, Poonch and Rajouri etc have been asked to move to safer places as a precautionary measure as the situation has become tensed after the strike. Sources disclosed that an emergency meeting was called by the Deputy Commissioners Jammu in which he asked various Sub-Divisional Magistrates to evacuate villages under their jurisdiction which are lying within the 10 kilometer area from IB. For this purpose similar directions were passed to the Sarpanches, Panches and
Lambrdars of the various villages besides to local police to implement the evacuation orders for the safety of the border populace.
In the R S Pura sector special camps for the refuge of the border populace have been prepared by the administration at Government Boys Hr Sec School R S Pura, Bana Singh Stadium, Boys High school Kotli Shah Daula, Girls Hr Sec Miran Sahib and ITI College R S Pura where people can stay.
According to reports, people from Abdullain, Suchetgarh, Korotana Khurd in R S Pura sector, Garkhal, jajhial, Sidharawan in Akhnoor sector and Bainglar, Glar, Chak Fakira, Suchetpur, Kullian, Suchetgarh, Fakira Chak in Samba sector etc had migrated to the safer places and most of them had shifted their children’s and younger once to the relative’s homes.
Considering the sensitivity of the situation, orders regarding the closure of government schools in various border regions were also issued by the concerned Deputy Commissioners till further orders. In Jammu order pertaining to the closure of schools in Khour, Jourian, Marh, R S Pura, Arnia, Satwari, Akhnoor, Bishnah and Miran Sahib area was issued by the Deputy Commissioner Simrandeep Singh.
Meanwhile the security girds on the IB and LoC has been strengthened by the extra deployment of troops by BSF and Army.
Sources, said that alerts have been issued to security personnel deployed at all the borders besides all the hospitals and police stations in all the entire border regions are kept on high alert.
