Business School SMVDU organizes National Seminar

The School of Business at Shri Mata Viashno Devi University (SMVDU) organized One-Day National Seminar on “Contemporary Practices and Trends in Business Management and Society”. The Inaugural Session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) D. Mukhopadhyay, Dean Faculty of Management, SMVDU. Dr. Rashi Taggar, Joint Organizing Secretary welcomed the guests and set the tone of the seminar, while explaining its importance. Prof. Yoginder Singh Verma, Pro-VC of Central University of Himachal Pradesh, was the Chief Guest, and Dr. Alka Sharma, Director; TBS of Jammu University was the Guest of Honour.

Prof. Verma, in his Key Note address discussed the concept of disruptive technologies and innovations whereas Dr. Alka Sharma, in her address, emphasized upon the era of intelligent enterprises. There were 37 papers presented on innovation, financial performance and implementation issues, IT interventions, social innovations, work family enrichment, technology interventions, socio economic trends and issues etc., and the parallel sessions were chaired by Dr. Suparn Sharma, Dr. Shazia Bukhari and Dr. Deepak Jain.

Dr. Sushil Kumar Mehta, Head, (SOB) presented the theme and Dr. Saurabh, Organizing Secretary delivered the Vote of Thanks. The seminar is a step for creating indigenous knowledge base that shall help in redefining the management and business practices in current times. It provided platform for the learners in creating a symbiotic relationship which is beneficial for the society and economy as a whole.
