CA&PD, LMD booked 17 traders

On the directions of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, a joint team comprising Assistant Director CA&PD Ramban, Abdul Rashid Gania, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Ramban, Kapil Jamwal and TSO Batote Satish Kotwal inspected various business establishments at Patnitop and Sanasar for violation of various provision of Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and J&K weight and measure Act, 1997 and packaged
commodity rules.
As many as 17 traders were booked by the concerned on the spot and penalty of Rs 19,800 was imposed on the erring traders.
Officers directed all the traders to use only verified weights and measures for business transactions and display MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Consumer Care Number on the commodities to be sold in package form.
The department has also warned the unscrupulous traders to desist away from using unfair trade practices and appealed to the consumers to remain vigilant while purchasing the commodities.
