Centenary Year Celebration of ‘Champaran Satyagreh’ concluded here today at Salal Power Station
During the occasion, M.G Ghai, Chief Engineer (Civil), Salal Power Station felicitated winners of essay competitions organized during celebration of Centenary Year of ‘Champaran Satyagreh’ among KV, Jyotipuram Students and also among employees of Salal Power Station on the topic ‘Role of Mahatma Gandhi during ‘Champaran Satyagreh’. The prizes were given away in an impressive Prize Distribution function, organized at Conference Hall of Salal Power Station. Speaking on the occasion, Ghai said that ‘Champaran Satygreh’ was probably the best example of Constructive Political Agitation wherein all out efforts were made to mitigate the problems of the peasants. This was a non-violent movement which paved the way for the freedom movement. He further said that organizing of such programmes are very important particularly among the student community enabling them to understand the long struggle by our ancestors to obtain freedom for us.
