CJM sent accused to Juvenile Home

Jammu, Jan 20 (JNF): Chief Judicial Magistrate today sent the accused in the minor’s alleged rape and murder in Hiranagar to the Juvenile Home.
In a much publicized murder of minor girl at Hiranagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Amarjit Singh Langeh today sent the accused Shubham Sangra S/o Om Parkash Sangra R/o ward no.10, Hiranagar at present Rassana Tehsil Hiranagar to Juvenile Home RS Pura for 10 days. Shubham Sangra was produced in the Court of CJM by SI Anand Dutta of Police Station, Hiranagar in connection with FIR No. 10 of 2018 for offences under sections 363 , 343 and 302 of RPC alongwith Case Diary with prayer for grant of ten days remand in respect of delinquent/juvenile.
CJM Kathua Amarjit Singh Langeh after perusal of the Case Dairy observed that Juvenile /delinquent is allegedly involved in an F.I.R. No. 10 of 2018 for offences under sections 363, 343 and 302 of RPC. He seems to have been apprehended on 19-01-2018. As per school record, date of birth of delinquent is stated to be 23-10-2003. Prima facie therefore he is juvenile within meaning of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2013.
CJM Kathua further observed that offences under sections 302 and 363 of RPC in which involvement of juvenile is alleged are grave, heinous and non-bailable in nature. Investigation is going on. Juvenile therefore is directed to be kept in Juvenile Home at R.S.Pura, Jammu for a period of ten days from today till 29-01-2018.
On the expiry of said period, he is produced before the competent court of law for further orders. Medical examination report of juvenile is also seen. SIT shall take all requisite measures that are required to be taken under law in respect of juvenile. Special Investigating Team shall be at liberty to take appropriate procedural steps should it sense necessity of interrogation of juvenile in the case in order to disinter any useful information.
