Complete domination by GCW Parade in Fencing

Government College for Women (GCW) Parade showed their complete domination in the team events winning all three gold in the inter-college fencing competition held under the banner of Department of Sports and Physical Education on the JU campus, here today.
The GCW Parade teams win gold in Epee, Foil and Sabre events thereby leaving little scope for other participating colleges to think of the overall trophy when they compete for in the individual events tomorrow. The Results:
EPEE: GCW Parade (Shivata, Ashnita and Akansha), Ist; PG Departments of JU (Pooja Sharma, Nishla and Subhi Antahal), 2nd and GCW Gandhi Nagar (Zaber, Mehnaz and Rehana), 3rd.
FOIL: GCW Parade (Jayshree, Mokshi and Shreya), Ist; PG Departments (Pooja Sharma, Nishla Sharma and Subhi Anathal), 2nd and GCW Gandhi Nagar (Zaber, Mehnaz and Rehana), 3rd.
SABRE: GCW Parade (Sakshi, Mokshi and Gunjan), Ist; GCW Gandhi Nagar (Mehnaz, Rehana and Zaber), 2nd and PG Departments(Pooja Sharma, Nishla and Surbhi Antahal), 3rd.
The competition was officiated by the technical penal including Shotu Lal Sharma, Rachna Jamwal, Bhisham Singh and PD Singh.
Meanwhile, as per the organizers the competition in individual category shall start tomorrow at 10 am, followed by the valedictory function at 12 noon.
FOOTBALL: MBS, MIET, PG Arts advance
JAMMU: Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS), MIET College and Post Graduate (PG) Departments of Arts teams advanced into the next round of the inter-college men’s football competition winning their respective matches on the JU campus grounds, here today.
Earlier, MBS College defeated GDC Kathua 3-0. Manjot Singh (50th, 57th) and Sarabjyot Singh (54th) were the scorers.
In other match, MIET College trounced GDC Poonch 3-2 in a close game making it 3-2. From MIET, Dheeraj played brilliant game netting all the three goals striking in the fourth, 10th and 36th minutes. From GDC Poonch, Gagandeep Singh scored in the 19th and 56th minute. In another scheduled game, PG Arts defeated IDS Sehora 7-2 in a high scoring game.
Shubham (4th, 45th), Hanzin (6th), Avinash (21st), Achal (37th), Gagan (40th) and Ayush Pandoh (55th) were the scorers. From IDS Sehora Shaheen (30th) and Ahtushum (50th) reduced the margin.
