Complete shut-down in Distt-Doda over Kashmir killing

A complete shutdown was observed in District Doda and other parts of Chinab Valley by the members of particular community in protest against the killing of top Hizib Commander Burhan Wani and about two dozen Civilian in Kashmir and alleged false propaganda against religious preacher Dr Zakir Naik.
The shops and other business establishments of particular community remained completely closed in all the major towns of District
Doda including Bhaderwah, Doda Thathri, Ghat and Gandoh. However, Traffic was also affected. However Govt offices and Banks remained open.
In Doda thousands of local residents of Doda and Ghat took out processions and raised sloguns angainst India and killing of innocent citizens in Kahmir Valley. The procession passed through various roads of the town and culminated at Eid ghah Doda. The bandh call against the collation Govt for their alleged atrocities in Kashmir Valley against civilians during last three days was given by Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah, Anjuman Islamia Gandoh and Masjid Committee Thathri. “We have appealed for peaceful bandh today against the security forces and collation Govt for killing and torturing the innocent civilians in Kashmir during last couple of days,” said Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah President Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
“Our shutdown call is also to show our resentment and to lodge a strong protest against the union Govt, Communal forces and bias Media for leveling false allegations and communally motivated propaganda against Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik,” he added. He said that Bundh call was also given to register the protest against the killing in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Beside complete shutdown, people of Doda and Bhatyas also participated in the protest rally which passed through their main markets raising anti India and pro freedom slogans. At Doda, a strong protest rally started from old bus stand and while raising pro pakistan and pro-freedom slogans reached Eid gah doda where hundreds of people participated in prayers in absentia(Gaibana Nimaz-e-Janaza) of civilians who lost their lives during protests after Burhan wani’s killing.
“This is not a religious procession but we are here to lodge our protest purely on humanitarian grounds for the innocent kashmiris who were brutally tortured and killed by the security forces after Burhan’s assassination,”
said a protester Zubair Ahmed from Ghat,Doda.
“we would have lodged a similar protest if any innocent non-muslim would have been killed or tortured. collation Govt has put humanity to shame in Kashmir valley,” he added. As precautionary major, extra security deployment was made in all major towns of Distt Doda to avert any untoward incident,however bandh passed off peacefully without any reported violence. Reports from Kishtwar said that shops and other business establishments belonging to a particular community remained closed. groups of local residents held protests at various places in the town. security arrangements were tightened to meet any eventuality. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the town.
