Cong completes 100 km of ‘Jan Jagruti Padyatra’

Yatra entered South Goa where the North Goa district president Amarnath Panjigar handed over the baton of the party flag to South Goa district president Subhash Phaldessai at Kundaim in Madkai constituency. The ‘padyatra’ entred Ponda constituency last evening and thus completed 100 km.”
Mr D’Mello informed that the Padyatra began at Marcel with a public meeting at Marcel Market, where All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Girish Chodankar interacted with people of over 12 constituencies in North Goa. Mr Chodankar questioned Parrikar’s unconstitutional authority on declaring that he would make Goa cash-less, Mr D’Mello informed, adding former party MLA Dayanand Sopte accused the BJP government of destroying the dreams of the youth by not fulfilling its promise of providing 50,000 jobs. The Congress had started the ‘Jan Jagruti Padyatra’ on November 29. The ‘padyatra’ was flagged off by GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro and Leader of the Opposition in Goa Legislative Assembly Pratapsingh Rane. The Padyatra which is to cover 266 km on foot passing through 34 constituencies will conclude on December 12.
