Congress committed to fight against injustice: PCC chief

The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Ghulam Ahmad Mir has urged the people to join Congress Party in the fight against the wrong policies of the BJP Govt at the Centre. Mir made these comments while launching `Jan Jagran Abhiyaan’ in a large public meeting at Bandipora on Sunday. The Congress Party launched Jan Jagran Abhiyaan, the Party’s nationwide programme, aiming to register its strong protest, besides highlighting the unprecedented price hike, unemployment, economic crisis, and various other issues concerning familiar people under BJP rule.

Addressing the massive public gathering, Mir urged the people to join Congress Party in the fight against the Centre’s anti-people policies, misrule and mismanagement, which were responsible for pushing people to the wall. Mir said BJP Govt at the Centre was punishing people under the garb of unprecedented price hikes. A few Corporate houses were earning thousands of crores every month, but the ordinary people were economically hit.

He said Congress would be aware of what the Centre Govt was doing to benefit corporate houses growing rich day by day and familiar people becoming poorer while seeking people’s cooperation in the fight against the BJP’s anti-people policies. Mir also urged the party workers to gear up for the challenges and extend their activities in every nook and corner of J&K, besides reaching out to people with the Party’s policies and programmes.

JKPCC president expressed severe concern over the deteriorating security situation in J&K and blamed the Govt for failing to ensure a peaceful atmosphere, emphasizing guaranteeing the safety of people. Senior leaders Haji Abdul Rashid, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Surinder Singh Channi, Imtiyaz Parray, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Sahil Farooq and Abdul Gani Khan also addressed the public meeting.

On this occasion, many political workers from Bandipora joined Congress Party under the leadership of GA Mir and vowed to work for the Party.
