Congress concern over worst power crisis

A meeting of senior Congress leaders was held today to take stock of the problems faced by the people of the state in general and Jammu region in particular. The congress leaders unanimously expressed serious concern about the worst power crisis being faced by the people of Jammu. The people of Jammu are suffering due to non-availability of power, because of long cuts and the Ministers, MLAs and MLCs, of ruling alliance are enjoying in cool and comfortable weather of Kashmir Valley. The leaders expressed their anguish against the forced shutdown being imposed on the consumers, which is totally unbearable during these hot summer days. They said that it is surprising that these cuts for longer durations are beingdone during the night hours also. They further expressed that the availability of drinking water is equally bad and the people are suffering badly. The water supply position both in Urban as well as in Rural areas is pathetic.
The Government came under heavy attack for discontinuation of system of summer and winter secretariat, at Jammu and Srinagar respectively for redressal of public grievances. The leaders described it most shameful for the elected representatives from Jammu for their non-availability to listen to the public grievances. The leaders expressed their full sympathy with the public and asked the Jammu representatives, “To perform or resign” and sit at home.
While discussing the political scenario of the state, the Congress leaders expressed their serious concern about the spurt in the militancy in the valley an asked the PDP-BJP Govt. to change their soft and lackadaisical approach while dealing with the militants and their masters viz. Huriyat Conference and those anti national elements associated with ISIS. They were of unanimous view that the “Common Minimum” agenda of PDP-BJP alliance, based on development, is a total fraud and hollow and an attempt to mislead the people of the state. The aim of this common minimum programme is nothing but to grab power said the congress leaders.
The leaders also reminded to the BJP of their promises made to the people of Jammu before elections, which they have totally forgotten. The congress leaders described the Jammu BJP leaders, “parterners of PDP”, in realizing “SELF RULE”, agenda set by the PDP.
Pitching for establishment of Sainik Colony in Kashmir Valley for the welfare of the ex-servicemen of our state, the Congress Leaders criticized the Govt. and specially the BJP ministers for its non-implementation. They said, we have a Sainik Colony in Jammu and why not in Kashmir ? The issue of refusal of 5 Maralas plots to the border residents, residing on zero line, also came under discussion. The Congress Leaders described it most unfortunate that the Govt. have gone back on the promise made to our simple and innocent border residents. The meeting demanded that the border residents should be provided with 5 MARLAS plots so that they can move to these places at the time of cross border firing.

JKPCC, SardariLalDubey, Arun Sharma, Adv. MahinderBhardwaj, Ashok Dubey, HiraLalAbrol, Lala Devi Dass, Narinder Sharma and Varun Sharma.
