The Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh is in trouble again as majority of its lawmakers have joined the People’s Party of Arunachal Pradesh.
In an assembly of 60 members, Congress has 46 lawmakers while 11 members belong to the BJP.
Today, 43 legislators of the Congress out of the 46 have joined the People’s Party of Arunachal Pradesh. This includes the current chief minister Pema Khandu.
“Have met the assembly speaker and informed him that they are merging the Congress with the People’s Party of Arunachal or PPA,” Mr Khandu said.
Two independent lawmakers have also joined the PPA.
Former chief minister Nabam Tuki and a few other legislators continue to be in the Congress.
