Congress stages protest against demonetization

Vijaypur, January 7

Former Minister and Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) General Secretary Manjit Singh along with local farmers staged protest against the demonetization and submitted a memorandum to the Sub District Magistrate (SDM) here today.

During protest, former Minister, JKPCC, General Secretary, Manjit Singh demanded reply from Prime Minister Narindra Modi for his silence over the questions raised by AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi and said that the people have been befooled with the false promises and then, by the demonetization.

“Only rich and big business houses have been benefited with the demonetization, while the poor and farmers remained worst suffers,” he said, adding that the people who don’t have black money have been standing in long queues but the BJP leaders enjoying.

Later, Manjit Singh led protesters submitted a memorandum to the SDM.

Others who were present during protest included District President Parkash Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Babbal Gupta, Trith Bhagat, Subesh Bhagat, Choudhary Bachan Lal, Col Swaran Singh, Babu Ram Bhagat, Bharat Bushan and others.
