Kathua, April 15
Jehangir Mir, Deputy Chairman, J&K Legistative Council today conferred prestigious United Nations Scarf on ADC Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan.
The Deputy Chairman conferred the award on ADC Kathua in State Level Youth Conclave on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Collge of Education, Rajbagh, Kathua today in the presence of Padamshree S.P Verma, National Vice-President and President State chapter of Gandhi Global Family. Dr. C.M Seth, environmentalist and former Chairman J&K Pollution Control Board, Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides J&K, M.M. Joshi, Chairman of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Collge of Education, Tariq Bhat, Gandhian Activist from Reasi, Delegates from Kashmir , Faculty members and students of the College were present on the occasion.
Padam shree SP Verma while speaking on the occasion informed that ADC Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan is the first KAS officer of the State who has been honoured with UN Scarf for the cooperation he has been extending to further the cause of Ghandian Values. He added that the officer has already been decorated with UN Pin .
Verma outlined the need for taking collective steps at all levels to achieve the sustainable development as has been emphasized by United Nations through its 17 Sustainable Development Goals He apprised that GGF is in partnership with the United Nations through its United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan located at New Delhi to aware masses on need for sustainable development. He exhorted the youth to actively associate themselves with the organization.
