Covid-19: Over 250 fined, 60 vehicles impounded in south Kashmir

Police have fined more than 250 persons for not wearing masks and seized 60 vehicles for violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the administration for containing spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the south Kashmir, officials said.

The violators were fined in Pulwama and Kulgam districts since July 25 after the imposition of fresh lockdown from last Monday in the valley, barring Bandipora district where about a dozen areas had also been declared red zone.

They said police acting tough against the violators of prohibitory orders issued by the government, police seized 34 vehicles and fined 35 violators in Awantipora in Pulwama district.
