Disappointed with ‘ignored-approach’ of the BJP state unit, disgruntled president of Peoples’ Conference-Sajad Lone has flown to New Delhi to discuss ‘portfolio issue’ with BJP high command.
According to sources privy to the development, Sajad Lone after finding no takers in the state unit of BJP, despite allying with it, ran to high command of the saffron party to get his point discussed.
“For the past two days Sajad Lone is in New Delhi, discussing portfolio issue with the BJP high command. He had to reach the high command, when state unit of the party failed to accommodate his grievances regarding portfolio,” said sources, adding that BJP state unit has forgotten its ally, which supported it to make to power galleries.
Meanwhile, sources said that even as the state unit of BJP is not considering his grievances, despite he tendered resignation from council of ministers. Soon after Sajad submitted his resignation, his close aides informed that he was unhappy over the low profile Social Welfare Ministry given to him.
“ Neither we have discussed the matter so far nor do we know as to what is going to happen and whether Sajjad Lone’s portfolio will be changed or not,” state BJP President, Sat Sharma said. He added “The issue is being directly handled by the party high command ever since our trusted friend, Sajjad Lone expressed his concern over the portfolio allotted to him in the new government that was sworn in on April 4.”
“So far nothing has been conveyed to us in this regard by the party high command, but we are only hoping that things will soon fall in place and Sajad will accept the new assignment given to him,” media quoted party president.
The media reported Sat Sharma saying, “Sajad is in touch with the party high command in New Delhi and the state unit is nowhere”. Pertinently, Sajad, who was given cabinet berth from BJP’s quota, did not attend the first cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti a couple of days ago.
Confirming his visit to New Delhi, Sajad Lone while talking to Newspoint over phone said that he is out of station and ‘is in important meeting.’
