Criminals explode bombs at cinema hall

Criminals exploded two bombs at a cinema hall on Sonarpatti Road under Town police station area in the district in the wee hours today when its owner refused to pay extortion of Rs 50 lakh to them. Sub Divisional Police Officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey said here today that two masked outlaws exploded bombs at the cinema hall and also left a written note before making good their escape.
In the note, they claimed responsibility of exploding bombs as the hall’s owner refused to give Rs 50 lakh.
He said that the incidents had been captured in a CCTV camera installed at the hall.
Nobody was injured in the explosion, he said.
Cinema hall owner Santosh Kumar said that outlaws had demanded Rs 50 lakh from him as extortion money and also threatened to grab his land at Sheodayal Bigha village if he refused to oblige them. He said that he was also beaten up on November 14 when he opposed the outlaws for their nefarious design.
Mr Kumar had also earlier lodged a named FIR against three people, natives of Sheodayal Bigha village, in this connection.
He said the outlaws might have exploded bombs at the hall to protest filing of FIR against them. Meanwhile, an irate mob blocked a local road near Lal Chowk in protest against the incident and also in support of its demand for immediate arrest of culprits.
Senior civil and police officer are trying to pacify the mob and lift the road blockade, police added.
