Jammu Tawi, November 19
A rally of Ex-servicemen was organised at Rakhmuthi Miltary station, Akhnoor under the agies of Crossed Swords Division. The Ex-servicemen rally was aimed at reaching out to the veterans and Veer Naris of the elite Indian Army. The function was organised at a grand scale, wherein the attendance of ex service men was overwhelming.
The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar, AVSM, SM VSM, GOC, White Knight Corps which was attended by a number of Army, Civil Administration and Ex-servicemen dignitaries. The ESM rally was principally aimed at addressing relevant issues pertaining to health services for the Ex Servicemen and acquainted them with various schemes and plans for enhancing their quality of life even after retirement.
On occasion, Ex Servicemen and Veer Naris were informed about welfare and financial schemes available for them i.e. pension related information, functioning of Crossed Swords Ex Servicemen helpline, Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Post Retirement Schemes and service opportunities after retirement. Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, GOC, Crossed Swords Division in his inaugural remarks welcomed and expressed the gratitude towards the ex servicemen for their contributions and continued support towards nation building. GOC reinforced the Armed Forces motto of ‘Our Ex-servicemen, Our Pride’ and assured them of Cross Sword Division’s unstinted support for their well being and prosperity. Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Singla, IAS, Addl Divisional Commissioner appreciated the large presence of ex servicemen on this occasion and reinforced the government’s commitment towards recognition of the unmatched sacrifices and selflessness of the Armed Forces and the ESMs.
