Crushing terrorism

Despite prevailing unrest in Kashmir valley, the government is determined to crush terrorism and the people sheltering it. In this practice, the government has asked the police and security agencies to expedite its anti-militancy drives.
This week only, the security forces have launched series of major search operations in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district at suspected militant hideouts.
During these searches, the security forces have recovered Chinese flags along with incriminating material at suspected hideouts of militants. In addition to this over 44 people were arrested for their alleged involvement in terror-related activities.
The security agencies have expedited their search operations, especially in the north Kashmir after Uri terror attack which shows strong inputs have been received by the security agencies.
During these searches over 700 houses were searched in an extensive search operation in old town in Baramulla, during which 44 persons involved with terror related activities have been apprehended.
Over a dozen of employees have also been dismissed by the Jammu and Kashmir government for alleged anti-national activities.
With over 90 people killed so far in the clashes, the death toll continues to mounts and the number of injured also continuing to soar. As per reports, over 7,000 people have been detained along with the arrest of a human rights activist Khurram Parvez.
The action on the part of state government makes it evident that no compromise on national security should be tolerated and every individual who tends to disturb peace and tranquility of the state by encouraging terrorism.
The spurt in infiltration attempts from Pakistan into India has been met with a strong response from Indian security forces, resulting in the killing of 79 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir till June 30 this year.
Militant groups based in Pakistan have intensified their efforts to radicalise youths, who are targeting security forces and giving it a shape of civil resistance.
The government is also taking all necessary measures to counter the incipient threat posed by the ISIS. There exists a close and effective coordination between intelligence and security agencies at the Centre and the states level.
