In order to implement the directions of Chief Minister, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti in letter & spirit, the Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed today held a maiden Public Darbar here at Dak Bunglow, Anantnag.
The Darbar was attended by S.E R&B, PHE, I&FC, PDD, Exen PMGSY, ADC, Chief Planning Officer, ACR, ACD, District Horticulture Officer, ARTO, DSWO and other district officers.
A number of deputations particularly from Dooru, Seer-Hamdan, Sarnal, Bagh-e-Nowgam, Kokernag and other areas met the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion, gave a patient hearing to the public grievances & issued onspot directions to concerned officers for their immediate redressal.
Most of the public demands were pertaining to the provision of safe drinking water supply, rational and speedy ration supply, removal of encroachments from various irrigation canals, de-silting of various canals, upgradation of link roads, unplugging of drains, power facility and proper upkeep of transformers, transportation facility, decongestion of the town, beautification and sanitation of the town, proper manning of various SDHs and PHCs, contruction of culverts and flood protection bunds.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the time-bound redressal of grievances and directed the concerned officers to furnish the action taken report within a week.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said the regular follow-up and progress of all the decisions taken will be assessed in next Public Darbar to be held in next week. The DC said that the action taken on the issues raised by different deputations would be conveyed in the next darbar.
