Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today chaired a meeting to review security scenario in the district.
The meeting was attended by SSP Anantnag Muhammad Jabbar, SDMs, SP Operation, Commandants from 1 and 19th battalion and 3 RR, officers from CRPF 40,90,163 and 164 battalions, SDPOs, DSPs and other concerned officers.
The DC stressed on maintaining close liaison between the common people and those concerned with security especially the district police.
He urged police and security agencies to adopt a people friendly approach while dealing with civilians at the time of security related exigencies. He said while tackling law and order situations, security personnel operating on ground should exercise maximum restraint and strictly following laid down SOPs.
DC stressed upon the officers of police and district administration to work in tandem so that the security situation remains peaceful during the annual Amarnathji Yatra and upcoming elections in the district.
DC said grievance redressal camps would be held across the district wherein officers from police and district administration would listen to the grievances of the public.
