The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad today called for need of awareness campaigns to educate masses about the utility of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) adding that broad features of the Act should be translated into Urdu language and then distributed in the form of Pamphlets.
Speaking at a meeting to review the implementation of PSGA, the DDC said that the prime objective of the Act is to enable people to get transparent and responsive administration and to get redressal of their grievances.
He said the implementation of the PSGA would go a long way to eradicate the menace of corruption. Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, SSP Budgam, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDMs of Beerwah, Khanshib, and other concerned officers.
The District Development Commissioner instructed the SDM, Khansahib and Tehsildar Khansahib to launch a vigorous anti encroachment drive in and around the famous Tourist Destination, Doodhpathri, so that all the roads leading to it are cleared off. He said in view of the ensuing tourist season, all the roads leading to Doodhpathri should be kept clean and macadamized.
Meanwhile, the SSP Budgam informed the meeting that about 2200 Passport Verifications have been cleared since April 9, 2016 after the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti issued directive to the DDCs & SSPs of various districts to convene public grievance redressal camps in their respective districts.
