DLTFC approves 84 cases under PMEGP

District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar has instructed the implementing agencies of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to systematically implement the scheme in the district, so that more employment opportunities can be created for unemployed youths.
PMEGP is the flagship scheme of Ministry of MSME and is an effective instrument for generating employment opportunities in urban and rural India through setting up of micro enterprises.
During the meeting cases were put up before the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) for scrutinize the eligible cases of loans, out of which 42 cases under KVIB, 38 cases under District Industries Centre Kathua and 4 cases under KVIC were approved under PMEGP of MSME for establishing small scale units during the current fiscal year.
Chairing a review meeting of the PMEGP scheme at conference hall at DC office, DDC requested the bankers to extend their proactive support and ensure sanction of pending proposals and settlement of pending claims at banks level so that the PMEGP targets for the year can be achieved. He further instructed the officials to re-verify beneficiaries of the pending cases and asked to provide the PMEGP scheme to genuine beneficiaries at the earliest.
The DDC enjoined upon the officers to provide full support to the budding entrepreneurs especially to the unemployed youth so as to provide them an opportunity to establish their income generating units. He stressed upon concerned officers to put their efforts and extend hand holding support to beneficiaries and ensure to achieve the set target well in time. While discussing the object of the scheme, DDC called upon the departments and agencies to create awareness about the scheme among youth especially unemployed. He also stressed for educating youths to get registered through online portal of respective departments and agencies.
He said entrepreneurs under PMGEP can further provide employment opportunities to other employed youths. He also directed officers to ensure linkage of trained beneficiaries of skill development courses so that skilled youth can also be absorbed in such units. LBM Kathua, GMDIC, KVIB, KVIC were present on the meeting.
