The people of villages including Kanyala, Kahpota, Madeen, Jandrah, Nagola, Ponthel, etc. led by Social activist & Sr. Congress leader Rakesh Wazir met Deputy Commissioner ,Jammu Simrandeep Singh and apprised him of  the problems being faced by the arbitrary orders which prohibits the villagers from doing any repair, construction, modification etc. within radius of 1 KM area of the 15 Ammunition Depot Kanyala in their own lands even without giving them any compensation or without even rehabilitating them and the latest addition in the matter is the order where even the Rural Development Department is stopped from doing the small works including the works of MNREGA etc which is highly un justified and un lawful and asked the Deputy Commissioner that on the pattern of Kashmir, the case be recommended to government for shifting of this Ammunition Depot to some other isolated site and lands of the villagers be handed over to them and day to day harassment of the villagers by the Army personnel be ended once for all and healing touch in real since be provided to them.

Wazir while elaborating said that the Depot was commissioned some 50 years back and the lands of the people were taken on small rents  which even after so many years have just reached 800/- to 1300/- per year per kanal and people were dislocated and after a gap of 50 years when people were able to make some shelters on their heads outside the depot they are again being stopped from making any repairs, constructions or any other modifications even on their own lands and even government  and asked for the intervention of the administration at the earliest in the matter and even revocation of the order issued by the earlier District Magistrate which empowers Ammunition Depot people to stop or even demolish the construction of any one within  1 KM of radius of Ammunition Depot which is unjustified & un lawful.
