Kathua, April 15
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar called upon the revenue officers to take all necessary steps to make public services delivery easier, accountable and transparent. He was reviewing the functioning of revenue department at a meeting held at DC office complex today.
DC laid stress upon SDM’s and Tehsildar’s to conduct surprise visits in offices of different departments under their jurisdiction and monitor their functioning. The Deputy Commissioner directed revenue officers to prioritize the work of jamabandhi and girdawari strictly in conformity with the standing instructions in this regard. He also directed tehsildars to speed up the process of land acquisition cases so that work on important development projects can be started at the earliest.
The meeting also discussed in detail various services provided by the department as well as others pertaining to its functioning.Deputy Commissioner stressed upon timely submission of progress report and other issues ranging from attestation of mutations, removal of encroachment on state/kahchrai land, disposal of court cases etc by tehsildars. Stressing for keeping close check on encroachments in areas under their respective jurisdiction and strengthen the anti encroachment mechanism to retrieve encroached state, common and kahchrai land, DC impressed upon revenue officers to keep a strict vigil.
Issue such as agriculture census, women atlas, pending complaints, relief cases, enquiries, PSGA, Adhaar seeding and biometric attendance was also discussed in detail in the meeting.
ACR Kathua, SDM’s of Hiranagar, Basohli Billawar, Tehsildar’s and other revenue staff were also present in the meeting.
