The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today chaired an officers meeting to review the digitization of population of the district for Aadhaar enrollment.
The meeting was attended by ACR Anantnag, SDMs, EOs, Tehsildars, besides other concerned officers.
Taking a strong note of the pendency of Adhaar cards especially in the rural population of the district, the DDC directed the concerned officials to conduct door to door campaigns in all the election blocks of the district from May 1 to achieve digitization of whole population of the district.
The DDC directed the concerned agency to expedite the process of Biometric capturing and generating of cards in the district within stipulated time.
The meeting was informed that out of the targeted population of 765013, 90% have been digitized so far in the district and capturing of rest population is underway at many designated enrolment centers across the district.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to complete the seeding of Aadhaar with direct benefit transfer schemes, like ration distribution cards so that direct benefit transfer to consumers is achieved and pilferage of subsidy is checked.
