District Development Commissioner, Shabir Ahmed Bhat today chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting of banks and concerned departments to review the progress under District Credit Plan (DCP) 2016-17.
Among others, ADDC, AS.Chib, Lead District Manager, DDM, NABARD, General Manager DIC, DSWO and Cluster Heads of banks attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about achievements made up to September of the current financial year under Annual Credit Plan (ACP) 2016-17 by banks and financial institutions operating in the district. Lead Bank Manager gave a detailed account of the performance of banks under agriculture advances, priority sectors, weaker sections and credit flow to women beneficiaries. It was informed that up to September 2016, deposits worth Rs.2802.55 crore have been recorded while Rs.767.82 crore have been released under advance sector. District Development Commissioner also reviewed the progress of various departments like KVIB, KVIC, DIC, Employment, Agriculture and Animal/Sheep Husbandry under various schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, APY, PMEGP, NRLM, NULM, PMAY and others. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the Financial Literacy Centres (FLCs) have to play an important role in the financial inclusion and demonetization process. He stressed for concerted efforts of all the banks and government departments in organizing financial literacy and awareness camps for opening of bank accounts by the rural population including unorganized sector.
