District Development Commissioner Sheetal Nanda today chaired a public grievances redressal camp at Katwalta in Samba. ACD Tilak Raj,Tehsildar Farooq Khan, BDO Kawaljit Singh Bali, District heads of various departments, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE, PWD besides Sarpanches, Panches including locals from Mandal, Karnal, Rajouli and Baladeh areas were also present on the occasion.
The locals stressed on their main problems regarding upgradation of roads and improvement of water supply in the areas. They demanded distribution of passbooks for zamindars and provision of Health Sub-Centre in the Katwalta village. They also demanded filling up of vacant posts of teachers in the Middle School Gujjar Mohalla and improvement of approach path to the school.
They thanked the administration as it was for the first time that a DDC has visited their area for mitigating the development related issues of the people of above said areas. DDC appealed to the Panchayat members to provide labour for works to be taken up by Rural Development Department. She directed PHE department to check and make functional of the tube well and provide water tankers in the drinking water deficit areas periodically. She assured that new ration depots shall be opened as per guidelines. Later, she also inspected Primary School Karnal during the tour.
