DDC holds review meeting of progress of work done

In view of ensuing District Development Board (DDB) meeting and to review the progress of works under District Plan and other different programmes/schemes approved for the year 2015-16,   District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar  convened a meeting of officers of Forest, Fisheries, DRDA, Soil Conservation, Sericulture and Youth Services and Sports  departments  here  at DC Office Complex Kathua today.

The meeting had threadbare discussions regarding expenditure incurred under various schemes of Forest, Fisheries, DRDA, Soil Conservation, Sericulture and Youth Services and Sports departments in the district. The DDC sought the progress/ achievements of various development works in the district from concerned district officers. In the meeting, DDC took review of the physical and financial achievements made by departments under various centrally sponsored schemes and other flagship programmes.

DC Kathua also impressed upon the Divisional Forest Officer`s to fence the forest land to prevent it from encroachment in vulnerable areas and stressed on plantation during the coming monsoon season at identified locations. He further directed the Social Forestry department to plant ornamental plants at Lakhanpur and Nagri to give a face-lift, as they are the entry points of the state.

Similarly, DDC Kathua called for taking up development projects under convergence, exhorted for prioritizing reconstruction/recharging of ponds, fish rearing ponds, plantation of ornamental, mulberry and other plants, leveling of play fields in convergence with MGNREGA.

DDC also directed officers to furnish the record of work done with pictorial representation so that the same reflect during the DDB meeting.

In the meeting ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, AC (UT) Rahul Yadav, PO ICDS Rajinder Singh, CPO Kathua Ram Rattan and District Officers were present.
