Srinagar, April 14
District Development Commissioner, Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat today inaugurated a Digi Dhan Mela at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kulgam.
The mela is aimed to promote the digital payments/cash less transitions, in the district. On the occasion, J&K Bank, CSC, and other banks were asked to install their stalls and distribute publicity material promoting digital payment system particularly among student community in order to make cashless transitions a mass movement.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said the focus of this programme is to spread digital awareness among students to facilitate them to use cashless payments options in their day today life. He directed LDM to take necessary steps for further expansion of this intervention for ensuing digital transitions to occur in the district.
Earlier, the students of Girls Higher Secondary School spoke on the importance of digital transitions in modern times, besides a quiz competition was also held.
Deputy CEO, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Chief Planning Officer, District informatics officer and representatives of J&K Bank, LDM, and other concerned were present on the occasion.
