DDC reviews preparations for Kala Utsav

District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda reviewed preparations for ensuing Kala Utsav in a meeting here today. Kala Utsav is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to promote arts in educational institutions by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students from class 9th to 12th in the field of Music, Dance, Theatre and Visual Arts. The DC directed officials to organise School level competitions on 15th September and Zonal Level competitions on 21st September with successful participants competing at the District Level. She stressed upon ensuring maximum participation of students from across the district. She informed that administration shall make suitable efforts for further grooming of budding artists. Later, the DDC also reviewed the status of Swacch Vidyalya, Adhaar Seeding and school activities under Beti Bachao Beti Padao campaign. She directed schools to carefully implement guidelines so that they may be honoured under ‘Swachh Vidyalya Puraskar’ for excellent hygiene and sanitary practices. She also directed CEO Samba to issue notices to those private schools which are not cooperating in the Adhaar enrolment/seeding drive. The DDC also announced that on 17thSeptember, all schools in the district shall organise a Painting and Slogan writing competition where chart paper and water colours shall be provided to the children free of cost. The successful entries shall be awarded and their slogans/paintings shall be used in BBBP campaign in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, CEO Samba OP Bhagat, ZEO’s, Principals and Headmasters of Schools of District Samba.
