DDC reviews RD sector, stresses on community participation

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz took physical and financial review of various developmental schemes of RD sector in a meeting held at Ramban today.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Ramban, G H Kripak while highlighting physical and financial targets of MGNREGA gave a recap of all developmental schemes. He informed that under water conservation component 35 ponds and 20 catchment drains have been taken up in different blocks and after their completion other proposed works including bridle paths shall be executed.
DDC directed the officers to speed up the process of utilisation of funds allocated under various heads and durable assets must be generated so far as the developmental works in respect of components like water bodies, land development and road connectivity is concerned.
DDC stressed upon the functionaries to generate awareness about the RDD programmes in the field and ensure high level of transparency and accountability. Directions were issued to the officers for mobilising the general masses especially women stake holders for different works.
Pointing to “Swach Bharat Mission” DDC directed the officers to initiate various awareness programmes in each panchyat halqa in coordination with other departments to make the people aware about sanitation and cleanliness.
DDC also directed the ACD to innovate such techniques which help in solid waste management. The locals should be motivated for segregating bio-degradable and non-bio degradable wastes before their further disposal, he maintained.
Among others the meeting was also attended by ACR Ramban, BDOs and engineers of REW.
