Despite claims of J&K Police of dealing Drug Mafia with iron hands, two more youths die due to ‘Suspected Drug Overdose’

Jammu Tawi, April 26:
Despite claims made by Jammu and Kashmir Police of dealing Drug Mafia with iron hands, death of two youths have been reported with suspected Drug overdose in less than a week’s time period.
One suspected overdose death has been reported in Udhampur district while another similar death has been reported in periphery of Jammu City.
On April 21st, a body of 22 year old was found lying in mysterious circumstances in Udhampur district. When the body of the youth was shifted to District Hospital, Udhampur, doctors declared him as brought dead. During preliminary investigations, Doctors as well as police party indicated the cause of death possible due to Drug overdose.
“The deceased youth (identity withheld) was 22 year old and was under matric. His father runs a mechanic shop in Udhampur and was survived by an elder brother, sister and mother. During investigations, it came to light that the deceased got addicted to drugs almost a year ago”, revealed reliable sources to JK Newspoint further adding that “the most unfortunate part is that the parents of the deceased had fixed the marriage ceremony of sister on April 29th. While another family members and relatives were busy in making arrangements for the marriage ceremony, the tragic news of young death in the family had left everyone shell-shocked.” “The body was handed over to family members after

post mortem and inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain from where the deceased used to get the drugs. Even the friend circle of the deceased has been summoned to inquire and trace out the active drug peddlers and book them as per the law. This time we have requested the Health department to provide the details of postmortem category wise to ascertain which body parts were severely affected due to drug addiction so that it would help police and other allied agencies to make the general public aware of the ill affect of drug addiction,” shared a senior police officer.
Similar death of suspected overdose was reported on April 22nd, this time in Domana area of Jammu district.
A body of a young man (35) (identity withheld) was found lying in mysterious circumstances from a field. His body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where doctors declared him as brought dead. He too left behind wife, seven year old daughter and five year old son besides old mother and father.
Sources revealed that Jammu Rural wing which has initiated an inquest proceedings indicated that the case is of suspected Drug overdose. The deceased went missing from his home on April 21st. Later, his body was found from a nearby field. Police have summoned the friend circle of the deceased to seek details pertaining to links of deceased with drug peddlers.
A man hunt has been launched to identify all those who are hand-in-glove with Drug Mafia and targeting youth to trap them in their nefarious designs.
