Undermining the ‘strict’ instructions from the Prime Minister-Narendra Modi of keeping official websites up-to-date, the premier construction agency of the state, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) has not partially updated its website since September 2015.
The official website of the Corporation has not updated its ongoing and prestigious projects, but surprisingly, there is complete information regarding completed projects.
Moreover, the corporation has not also updated its monthly performance report, which Managing Director of the Corporation claims that they (JKPCC) ‘update it quarterly’.
Meanwhile, an official of the corporation wishing anonymity said that the official website of the organization is being updated regularly, but some section of it is kept deliberately blocked.
“If you check the official website of the JKPCC, you will be surprised to see that major part of the website is accessible and timely updated, but there are some sections where the Corporation has deliberately blocked the accessibility to the viewers,” said official of the corporation, adding, “This is true that the official website of the corporation provides incomplete information, as major portion, especially ongoing and prestigious projects are kept inaccessible.”
The official further said that the monthly performance report has also not been updated since September 2015.
On having look at the official website of the Corporation, one can easy find it that some section of information is deliberately kept inaccessible to the viewer. If you click on ongoing and prestigious projects, you will be disappointed as they will not open and to see the monthly performance report of the corporation, you have to shoot an RTI, otherwise official website is not going to provide that information as well.
Pertinently, the State Government has also directed all the Administrative Secretaries to ensure that official websites of their department and their field departments are updated on regular basis.
A formal direction in this regard was issued by the Secretary GAD who observed that the official websites of some departments were not being updated on regular basis resulting in obsolete information to the users.
Talking to Newspoint Managing Director of JKPCC- Er Daleep Thusu said that there is no ‘hiding’ or ‘incomplete’ information on the official website.
“I check the official website on daily basis and it is working flawlessly. We have all the records updated on the official website,” MD said, adding, “Even if you are not convinced you can talk to General Manager Jammu of JKPCC- Er.N D Khawaja.”
However, when contacted Er Khawaja, he said that at present he is offering prayers, but when called after some time, he did not respond.
