Notwithstanding looming threat from notorious Pakistan, security across the Jammu region, especially defence establishments, has not been raised so far.
Soon after the surgical strikes across the line of control, Pakistan continues to violate ceasefire agreement and reports regarding infiltration of terrorists have also been sounded, but still the security has not been beefed up.
Not learning any lessons from the past, in which terrorists had carried out attacks, no proper security arrangements have been put in place in the Chowadi and Ratnuchak areas of Jammu outskirts comprising, defence establishments and colonies.
The Chowadi area is situated just 7 kilometers from the Jammu and it is directly connected with the Birpur area of samba district but there is no security enroute and the route is ‘Free For All’ which itself is a major security threat.
Pertinent to mention here that one part of the Ratnuchak brigade is situated along the Chowadi-Birpur road and another is in the Kaluchak. But, unfortunately the entire route has no security arrangements owning to which anybody can easily sneak into the area without undergoing any frisking or identity check.
In the recent past the Ratnuchak brigade was attacked by the terrorists that had shattered the entire nation due to the security lapse which was tightened after it, but for a short time. But regrettably in the present circumstances when there is war like situation besides repeated threats are being given by the Pakistan, security of the area has not been beefed up and the entire route has been left free for all which could be dangerous.
Worthy to mention here that the recent attack on the army base in Uri sector in which 18 soldiers were killed was also a result of the security lapse but despite that the authorities have not learnt any lesion and the security of these defence establishments and colonies has been left on god’s mercy.
