DGP discusses ID preparations, stresses for greater synergy

In order to discuss arrangements for Independence Day-2016 celebrations across the state, a high- level meeting of officers was held at Police Control Room (PCR) here today.
The meeting was chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), SK Mishra and was attended by senior officers of Police, Central Para-military forces and civil administration.
The meeting held threadbare discussion with regard to deployment of police personnel, maintenance of law and order and other issues related to smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations. It was stressed that adequate man power would be deployed for the security of the venues of the functions and maintenance of law and order, besides contingents from different wings would participate in the celebrations for which the exercise has been started. The DGP called upon the officers to maintain synergy among various agencies and directed for keeping available required man power for the functions without affecting the law and order duties. He said that maintenance of peace and order during the celebrations should be the priority and stressed for maintaining close vigil on the suspicious elements, fuelling the situation for their personal gains and endangering the lives of innocent people, besides public properties.
Earlier, IGP Kashmir, SJM Gillani apprised the meeting about the arrangements made with regard to the state level function being held at Bakshi Stadium. It was told that effective measures have been taken for the security and deployment of man power.
Range Deputy Inspectors General of Police, present in the meeting, they also gave suggestions for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. They briefed about the arrangements made in their respective jurisdictions to celebrate Independence Day and informed that contingents from JKP and different forces would participate in the celebrations at district and tehsil headquarters.
