Dilapidated condition of road irks commuters

Worried about the bad condition between Preet Nagar to Nanak Nagar road of Gandhi Nagar constituency, the residents have appealed the concerned authorities to maintain the road to avoid agitation. Meandering through many thickly populated localities behind the area are a series of roads that link several areas. One among them branches from Preet Nagar and connects it with main road.
The condition of this is very deplorable but no one from the authorities inquired about the condition, said a local resident Munna. He added the vehicular traffic had also increased on the road, because of which they are battling potholed roads in their localities and say that negligence and lack of political will is to be blamed for the deplorable condition of the streets.
Shiv Nath Singh, another resident of the area, said, “The condition of the road makes it difficult to drive or to even walk on it. During the monsoon, we have to watch out for potholes.
A few more roads have been built in the recent paast to connect our colony but they are also riddled with potholes.
This poses danger to people as many minor accidents have occurred on these stretches.”
“Due to bad condition of the road and lack of proper drainage system, the people are facing problems.
It has become difficult for vehicles to ply as heaps of mud lie scattered over it”, Narinder Kour local resident.
Radha Rani, said the road has been in a pathetic condition for last four years “as the concerned department has failed to pay attention to the woes of the residents and commuters”.
