Diploma engineers hold protest in Bhaderwah, demand removal of pay anomalies

Expressing resentment over callous attitude of government for not removing the pay anomalies of Junior Engineers, All J&K Diploma Engineers Association units Bhaderwah today held a strong protest demonstration at Dak Bunglow, Bhaderwah.
Addressing the protestors, Er Farooq Ahmed Khan district Chairman Association of Jr. engineers said, during the interaction with the committee it was agreed that entry level of diploma holder will be 6700-10,000 instead of 4500-7000, but said govt has failed to fulfill the promise.
He also demanded en-hancement of fixed TA of Rs 30 since 1986 to Rs 3000 per month, equal wages for equal work ,promotion quota at all levels should be maintained and restoration of selection grade and also demanded that other pending demands of the association shall also be given due consideration.
He urged upon the govt to re-consider SRO and come up with new one so that problems of Jr. engineers are solved to some extent .He added that engineers/ staff are facing lots of difficulties especially Junior Engineers, who are being compelled to go to their respective sections/ areas by hiring public transport to inspect works during odd/night hours.
