Doda Congress workers pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary

District Congress committee Doda paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 25th death anniversary in a function organized here today. The function was organized at Bhadarwah by Distt Congress Committee Doda under the chairmanship of its Distt President MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta.
The speakers recalled the supreme sacrifice of Late Rajiv Gandhi for the unity and integrity of the country. While recalling the acheivements of former PM , MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta said that he was architect of the 21st century India, who brought the revolution in the field of Information technology.
“Today India has immerged as leader in computer and IT in the World only due to the vision of Rajiv Gandhi,” MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta said. “He was an architect of Panchayati Raj in the country as he brought 73rd Amendment in the Constitution of India. The Panchayati Raj in the state has also empowered on the pattern of 73rd Amendment. He strengthened the participatory democracy in this country at grass root level,” MLC added. “He empowered youths by reducing the voting age from 21 years to 18 years in order to ensure the youth of the country also to participate in the electoral systems and take lead in politics to serve the nation with young ideas,” He said. Those who paid rich tributes on the occasion includes Tanveer Ahmed Dev, Mohd Ashraf Goni,Mohd Saleem Wani, Abdul Hafeez Bhat, Kul Bhushan Singh, Sohail Malik, Asif Gattu, Hanief Shah, Master Mathura , Bal Krishan, Satish Kumar and others.
