Doda Daredevils win Title DPCL

Dhanidar Premier Cricket league organised by Indian Army at Rajouri from 01 September 2016 to 10 September 2016 culminated with an exciting final match and a glittering closing ceremony held at District Police Lines ground, Rajouri. Eight teams from seven districts of J&K participated in the tournament. After keenly contested matches at group and semifinal stages, Doda Daredevils and Kishtwar Killers played the final match. The event was witnessed by General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, DC Rajouri, Jonny William, IG, Rajouri and Poonch Range, Rajeshwar Singh, SSP Rajouri, other dignitaries from Army and civil administration and large number of locals of the area. The event created an environment of festivities in the town and persons of all age groups turned up to witness the finals in huge numbers. In the final match DD defeated Kishtwar Killers by one wicket. Winning the toss Kishtwar Killers elected to bat and scored 119 runs. In reply Doda Daredevils successfully chased the target of 119 runs in 19.1 overs. Mubasheer was the chief architect of Doda Daredevils victory. During the closing ceremony, a cultural programme was organised by school children of Rajouri. The winning team in addition to the coveted trophy were also awarded Rupees 50,000 /- as cash prize. The runner up team were awarded a trophy and cash prize of Rupees 25,000/-. Mubasheer of Doda Daredevils was declared Man of the Series and was awarded individual Medal and cash award of Rs 10,000/-. Rasheed Saleem of Kishtwar Killers and Mubasheer of Doda Daredevils team were declared best bowler and batsman of the tournament respectively and were awarded individual medals and cash award of Rupees 7,500/- each. General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force, said that it was a treat to watch both the teams play the finals. He complimented each and every player who has participated in the tournament and wished them good luck for future. He thanked the civil administration for their whole hearted support for the successful conduct of Dhanidar Premier Cricket League.
