Activists of the Dogra Front today staged a protest against the increase in the price of non-subsidised cylinder and inflation. They claimed that under such circumstances it was impossible to use an LPG cylinder.
Dogra Front president, Ashok Gupta said, “The price of the non-subsidised cylinder has been hiked, which would add to the burden of the citizens of the country, who are already reeling under high inflation.
He added that prices of all the essential commodities, like vegetables, pulses, dairy products and fruits, are touching sky. Gupta said onion, which was the most used vegetable, is selling at the price of 30-35 kg, which was comparatively very high.Demanding an immediate ban on forward trading of commodities and de-hoarding to control prices, Ashok Gupta reiterated the party stand of distributing essential edible items through the public distribution system.“The people falling in the Above Poverty Line (APL) category have been deprived of ration in the state for the past one year and there is no notice of that by the authorities concerned. Further, sugar has not been provided to the people belonging to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category for the past five months,” the Dogra Front president claimed.
