Jammu Tawi, December 21
The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of their President, Ashok Gupta today took out a procession and staged a protest in Jammu City against the hike in the prices of Ration Atta, Rice and non availability of Sugar since past three months.
While addressing the gathering, Ashok Gupta condemned the hike in the prices of Atta and rice as the prices have not been hiked by the central government than on what basis the prices were increased on the poor people. The bordering states on Himachal and Punjab are selling Atta and rice on the earlier prices and no hike has been made than how the state of J&K is selling the ration goods on higher prices.
Gupta demanded that white paper must be issued clarifying that on what grounds the prices were hiked and who took the decision of burdening the poor.
Gupta stated that the Prime Minister is always advocating for the cause of providing food to the people on cheaper rates than how the prices have been hiked in a current scenario of demonetisation when people are reeling under the affect of no cash on there hands as the so called ration depots doesn’t have the POS on their shops.
The party people who were present at the time of protest were Parkash, Nikku, Bantu, Yashoda, Manohar Lal, Bua ditta, Geeta, Sukhdev, Abhishek and others.
